GRADE 11 UNIVERSITY MATH
Trigonometry Part 2 - Trig Angles
Learning Goal:
The goal of this unit is to introduce students to angles larger than 180 degrees and to work with their trigonometric ratio applications.
Success Criteria:
By the end of this unit, I will be able to:
- Determining coterminal angles (by adding and/or subtracting 360 degrees from initial angle) and determine principal angles (angles with same terminal arm between 0 degrees and 360 degrees)
- Use special triangles to determine the exact trigonometric ratios for angles of 30 degrees, 45 degrees and 60 degrees (and any related angles to these) without the use of a calculator
- Determine the exact trigonometric ratio of any angle, given a point on the terminal arm
- Solve for both angles between 0 degrees and 360 degrees with the same trigonometric ratio using the "rules" for the given trig ratio (cosine 360 - , sine 180 - , tan 180 + )
