GRADE 11 UNIVERSITY MATH
Trigonometry Part 1 - Trig Triangles
Learning Goal:
The goal of this unit is to deepen students' understanding of the application of trigonometry in solving for right-angled triangles and oblique triangles and to solve problems from real world applications.
Success Criteria:
By the end of this unit, I will be able to:
- Use the Pythagorean Theorem and the 3 primary trigonometric ratios to solve all missing angles and sides in a right-angled triangle
- Solve real world applications of right-angled triangles
- Use the sine law and cosine law to solve all missing angles and sides in an oblique triangle
- Identify, by analyzing the sides of a triangle, if there is the ambiguous case (more than 1 possible triangle)
- Solve real world applications of oblique triangles (including 3-dimensional applications)
